Hey now, I was successfully resisting this thing for years! Years and years! I resisted multiple attempts by multiple people to get us together, and every single stupidly epic or epically stupid sign of our fundamental compatibility! We have been practically living in the same house for years and never once had we given in! The UST between us was grown into a beast as monstrous as any that ever sailed the Nile!

I was thinking more along the lines of 'bad fanfic cliche' than 'Wade-ish ramble', but it's hardly like I'd never combine the two, so...

But you realise the 'best' that's coming is along the lines of me going, "But no longer WAHAHAHAHA! Now we make up for 500+ episodes worth of lost time! Hours we spend sprawled on the living room couch together celebrating our SUPER love for one another and oh my god not only did I just quote Franky in my ridiculously sexual OP metaphor I just quoted Franky from my sister's ridiculous doujinshi about putting Luffy in a dress

Water 7 - and believe me, I know. My sister's been into OP for years and I have been thoroughly spoiled for the worst I had (and still have) to look forward to*. But damn, the execution! Even when you know the conflict over things like Usopp and the Going Merry are coming, it's all just so breathtakingly effective the way it pans out that it still hits you right in the gut. I am completely in awe of the writing and the acting in this thing.

*no rly, I am already getting pre-emptively sniffly just about every time Ace is on screen, that is how spoiled I am

Japanese version with subs, right? The voices are so perfect for every character that you understand whom exactly that voice belongs to even before you discover it! Zoro's is... I won't say what passes through my mind when I hear that voice...

And good luck with the marathon: it took me two months (4/5 episodes per day) when I did mine on the spur of a lost love just found again (I stopped reading the manga back in 2000 because of the lack of the guy sharing the books. ç_ç) and this happened in 2009, so some less episodes to catch. And oh, the movies also: don't ever dare to miss them out!

And I'm also jealous of your ACE figure: what do you think about Ace's Strong World edition (http://www.anime-export.com/product/6947)? *grin grin*

Fuck yeah, accept no substitutes! Trust me, I know all about Zoro's credentials. My sister made very sure I am aware that if anyone in the house is proposing to him I do not have first dibs.

I started off at around 3 eps/day, but I seem to be accelerating at a terrifying pace.

I think it will be sitting on my desk within the hour. *g* I think I am very much aware of my compound weakness for the long coat+no shirt look. I think that once a figure has tempted you and followed you through half a dozen shops while it continues to taunt you with unspeakably reasonable prices, eventually you must accept that some things are fated to be.

Haha, well, up to a point? I'm in the odd position of knowing a lot of the major events coming up, but not so much of the how or why. Relevant example: I know Franky's going to be joining the crew, I have no idea how he's going to get to that point from being the utter arse he's been introduced as. And I must say that only makes me all the more curious. Spoilers aren't always all bad that way.

So... any change you'll be inspired to fic for this fandom? :D

I would say there is certainly a chance. Whether it's so much as likely I would not be able to say at this stage. We'll see where it goes.

Heh. Well, you've got to understand that most of my spoilers were heard back when I was loudly insisting that I had no intention of ever watching One Piece while living with a sister who was nuts about it and badly needed someone to share the highs and lows with. I have been basically following the series for years the way someone with no particular interest in sport follows the World Cup by glancing at the news once in a while: you don't get the detail, but you still hear about the big stuff. In general however I am mostly on board with the odd spoiler - it just gives you something to look forward to. (Or steel yourself for, as the case may be.)

Usooooooopp <3 is my absolute favorite character in OP. I'll read anything you write about anyone, cause I think you're such a good writer but you writing Usopp would make me have to leave the comp for a while as I squee and jump around in excitement.

Usopp, huh? Doubt he's ever going to be one of my own favourites, but the Water 7 arc has gone an awful long way to make me reassess him - even though I knew it was coming from the start it's completely blowing me away. Nice to see the guy has his fans despite not being one of the pretty ones. *g*

Probably should go without saying with my record that more or less everything that's bitten me as a possible fic idea thus far has been of the slashy disposition (vague Usopp-related ideas included). But that would be a topic for another post.
