It could be that I am teh stoooopid, but I didn't realize that Watanuki's leap forward was him blocking the shot from hitting Doumeki. @_@
^^; Really, it wasn't so obvious back when it happened, but this chapter should have filled in the extra detail needed.
And though I am a donut lover at heart, I am equally sure he would have done the same for any of his new family.
Of course, and yet, I think there is a possibility that with anyone else, it would have occured to Watanuki to push them out of the way rather than jumping in to take the bullet himself. And I think that is all I will say on the subject for now. ^_~
And Kurogane -- *wibbles* Watanuki is one of his now, and I'm so glad.
If he wasn't before, Watanuki just took a bullet for one of his. That clears up any possible uncertainty on the subject.
And I'd love to see Doumeki explaining to the others where exactly Watanuki got the new glasses from.
Now you mention it, I can sort of see Doumeki spending the next day having coversations with assorted other camp mates to the effect of:
Fye: Aren't those new glasses Watanuki's wearing?
Doumeki: Yeah.
Fye: Fancy that!
(If really pressed, Doumeki might go so far as to mention that they picked them up the previous night, and then they'd get to the 'fancy that!' part of the conversation.)
RE: Icon - it's not quite up to qualifying as book yet, based on it's current length, but it is doing everything it can to fix that little problem. ^^;
Aaand I should really go work on the start of chapter 11 now, I think. ^_^
