Sol/Ky doujinshi idea - slash - fanart request

About that Hope and Free Sol/Ky doujinshi project people were planning a while back, would there happen to be any artists looking for some story ideas for it? Because aphelion_orion and I may just have come up with one...

So, it started with us innocently discussing Holy Order uniforms and all the difficulties you run into when you start trying to figure out how they come off all the different bits fit together. Only that led to me bringing up the fun fact that both Order Sol and Ky have had official recoloured variants in which their hair and skin are exactly the same as usual, but the colour schemes of their uniforms have switched red to blue and blue to red - or, as I can't help but think of them, "the versions from that time when Sol and Ky got up in the dark early in the morning and grabbed the wrong uniforms" (whaaaaat, you think the game designers had an innocent reason for switching their colour schemes like that? XD;). And while our merriment at that idea may have been slightly dashed by that minor problem where there's no way they'd ever actually fit each other's uniforms, that got us thinking - hey, there's still their belts, right? Those could come in one-size-fits-all, and those could easily have gotten accidentally switched without either of them noticing... XD You can all see where this is going, I'm sure.

Naturally that could only lead us to more ideas about Ky spending the rest of the day wandering through his duties, quite oblivious to the fact his belt suddenly doesn't read 'Hope' anymore, but all his men are either too polite or too terrified to tell him. So now if anyone wants to take up the challenge, I would *love* to see fanart based on this image. You could, say, have Ky on one side, innocently announcing something like "I don't know where you get all these ridiculous ideas about me and Sol," and Sol on the other looking down, having suddenly realised he's wearing the wrong belt and being all "oh fuck." I may be willing to offer bribes even. *cough*

Or, getting back to what I was saying about the doujinshi project, I'm sure by the time Ky's slightly traumatised men start madly trying to come up with any plausibly innocent explanation for how their belts could have wound up switched like that, I could easily have enough material to turn this idea into a short gag script. I mean, it'd fit with the doujinshi title perfectly and everything!

All we'd need is an artist. >.>

Wow, we are sharing a brain tonight :D

As the er, person who people seem to ask, yeah, I can SADLY tell you that those are their normal uniforms, just with the colours switched (there are differences between them unfortunately, and I can tell on sight whose uniform is whose, no matter what the colours are). (If you care, for reference: their belt plates are different shapes, and their collars and tabards are different.)

However I would totally pay Ky just grabbing the wrong belt in the morning, because as we have SEEN, our boy sometimes isn't that observant when it counts *cough* Also: terrified. DEFINATELY terrified :D

LOOKING DOWN AND FACEPALMING! Man, if I could DRAW I would totally do this.

...uh. I wonder if Min and I would fit each other's costumes. *cough*

*grin* Basically, it could be either a few pages of gag comic (not sure exactly how many yet), or just the one pic I mentioned the idea for. Or both. >.> Or I guess that one pic could be a cover page for the comic, even - pretty much whatever you like.

But what are they more scared of? Ky himself, the possibility Sol might be lurking nearby, or that all their worst suspicions might be about to be proven true? *g*

...technically you might be able to get away with fitting each other's wigs. Assuming the sight of you in a Ky wig doesn't break my brain. XD

We can't swap things like contacts, though, and I'm not sure I have blue ones hanging around... We'd have to see. Min is a lot skinnier than me, I might have problems *cough*gettingintoherpants*cough* OH YEAH I SAID IT

See, technically it wouldn't be quite as bad as the image of Sol in a Ky-wig, but it could be close...

The pants are pretty similar, maybe you could get away without switching them? But then, what would be the fun in that?

Unfortunately I don't think the Ky wig would fit over the Sol wig... although I could simulate it by attaching my brown hair extension to the bottom of the wig and pretend that Sol just can't wear wigs properly ;P

Well, here's (http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b220/Nazarale/SolKybelts.png) my attempt at it. It's really, really, really rough, mostly because it's about 3am right now and I've never drawn Sol before and I don't know why I just chose now to try. XD;

But your idea sounds really fun! It'd make for a good gag comic.

Also, I need to get this off my chest but. YOU'D THINK THAT "UNIFORMS" MEANT THEY HAD THE SAME CLOTHES. GEEZ. I never realized how different both their uniforms were until having to look up references and UGH. I think some of my frustration shows. -_-;

XD Well, I'd say it doesn't look too bad for a 3AM job. *grin* BWAHAHA, my idea is now out there mugging people in the middle of the night!

But your idea sounds really fun! It'd make for a good gag comic.

I think I've already talked another fanartist friend into drawing a version of the pic, we'll have to see about the comic. Although maybe I could talk one of my RL manga artist friends into it if all else fails....

Gah, tell me about it! Those uniforms are *seriously* lacking in uniformity! And sometimes you'd think it's like they're the only people in the Holy Order who wear 'uniforms' at all - Kliff doesn't wear one, and half the official pics of other Order personel are people wearing different version again, I swear! (Y halo thar ongoing source of personal reference-finding frustration ^^; I have been stuck on this one before, can you tell? >.>)

Good god, I love this idea 8D It sounds like a good comic to open the doujinshi with too, since it mirrors the title. As soon as I find a spare moment, I think I might have to try my hand at it...

Excellent. ^_^ I've gotten a couple of pics out of people based on it already (linked at this post (http://rallamajoop.livejournal.com/55635.html)) but not so much interest in the doujinshi idea. We did come up with a few more ideas about what could happen in the comic and how it could end that I didn't go into in this post, though it's nothing too concrete yet.
