Question for the costume makers

Does anyone know where in Perth we could get hold of some decent quality black vinyl/leather-looking fabric? Lisa's looking for something she can use for her AC Tifa costume, and it's proving hard to track down. We found some good fabric at Spotlight a while back, but they're out of stock and it doesn't look like they'll be getting any more in. She's specifically looking for fabric which isn't shiney, which rules out pretty much all of the fabric we've seen so far.

Not sure, sorry :( k_chan009 is getting my nobody coat material, but I'm not sure whether that's shiny or dull. You could try and check with her what she got.

I think I grabbed some black vinyl for Hawkeye's gunbelt/holsters, but from memory I didn't buy that much, so it wouldn't be much use to you. :( I take it _all_ the spotlight stores are out of black vinyl?

Lisa got one of the staff to check whether any of the other stores had it in stock. They thought they found some at their store in Rockingham originally, but since we rang back it sounds like that was some sort of mistake. All very frustrating.

We like to think we're doing Kingdom Hearts II Yuffie and Tifa, since we enjoyed KHII a lot more than AC, but they're almost exactly the same costumes so either works. In short, yep, that's what we're planning for Wai-con this year.

Damn :( And I suppose they aren't going to order any more in anytime soon? Something you could try is seeing if you can go to their seller direct. If they're not going to get it in for you, see if they'll tell you where they buy it from. It might work. :)

Might be worth a try, though I suspect the seller will probably be one of the ones who only sell fabric in large rolls and won't be too impressed by a request for the couple of metres we need. -_-

We're definitely doing Yu Yu Hakusho costumes at some point, but it doesn't look like we'll have time to get two costumes each done before the next wai-con. We'll probably just recycle last year's FF costumes for the other day and skip and copetition.

textile traders are having a sale...they're located in osborne park so i recommend checking them out...failing that, wasn't your material some sort of sofa fabric if i remember correctly? why don't you pop into furniture stores and ask them where they get their supplies from?
