So
jaseroque and I got done with translating the script for the third chapter of the Guilty Gear manga, and to flesh out the webpage a bit I wrote out some general info and summary stuff to put up as well. Then I realised that despite telling everyone about this project, I never actually linked to where I've been posting things. *headdesk* Go me?
Anyway.
Guilty Gear Xtra Manga Translations
(suggestions/corrections/etc all welcome)
Debating whether it's worth registering a domain name for the place, since the URL's on the long side as it stands and it wouldn't cost me all that much. On the other hand, first I'd have to come up with a name I like, and I'd want something general enough that I could use the same place for other GG plot stuff, should I ever get around to that. Hm.
The Internet continues to deliver a steady stream of new stuff about the upcoming Guilty Gear 2: Overture game. There's been an article out in English about it at last, which has pics of Ky and a little new info (once you get past the writer sharing TMI about his Bridget tattoo, anyway -_-). There's also a great Japanese site full of new character art and more new screenshots than I've seen anywhere else up here, a few of which I had a go at translating over at this post at the
guilty_gear comm.
Speaking of those screenshots, on going back through them again later I noticed something in the background I'd missed previously:

Pic is enlarged, but if it's still not obvious, what you're looking for is written backwards on the end of that giant mallet he's carrying. Either one of the graphics guys got slack while using the flip command, or that's not designed to say "JUDGEMENT" - it's designed to *stamp* "JUDGEMENT" into the face of whatever he's using that mallet to mash into a pulp. Who's with me on option 2? XD
It may be moving into a third dimension of graphics, but there's something reassuring about being reminded that Guilty Gear hasn't gone far from its well-cracked origins. I mean, the newest character's hobby is finding new adjectives! I cannot wait to see more dialogue for this guy. Speaking of which,
twigcollins has the best origin theory about him I've heard yet here, and a simply beautiful description of his weapon too. XD
I had a bunch of other thoughts about the game based on the info I've seen so far, but they're bound to get lengthy so they can wait for another day.
Finally, I went back and added a GG2: Overture tag to the posts I've been making about this game. I may as well face the fact there's going to be enough of them to make it worthwhile before very long. >.>
Anyway.
