Cosplay Ball stuff again
Sep. 5th, 2007 09:08 pmHeard back from one of the Panic organisers. Apparently we had the wrong impression - this isn't a cosplay ball in the sense that Manifest or Swancon run a cosplay ball or masquerade, it's just a ball. But cosplay will be allowed if it fits the dress code.
I dunno, I guess I can see where they're coming from, but we're surprised to hear that anime relevance is taking a backseat at an event run by the Perth Anime Convention. And considering I've already spoken to a couple of other people who weren't aware the 'formal dress only' rule was being treated as a big deal, I still have to wonder whether we're going to see people showing up at the door in casual cosplay on the night. Guess we'll have to wait and see. :/
Oh well. I'm sure we'll still have a great time bringing out our Swancon costumes again and catching up with everyone else. (As long as Panic's definition of 'black tie standard' includes 'a layer cake held up by hoop skirts', anyway. XD We're probably safe.)
