Fannish aniversaries

Today marks one year to the day since I got into xxxHOLiC/Tsubasa fandom. Or, to be a bit more specific, one year since I posted my first fic for either fandom, which I consider to have been the more important date.

*lets off lone party popper in celebration*

It's been a... sort of breathtakingly productive year too. According to my LJ memories, in that time I've posted 55 pieces of CLAMP fic. That's more than one a week - even including a couple of unproductive months mixed in and assorted fic for other fandoms taking up my time along the way. Whoa. Go me.

But wait - it gets worse, because I've also somehow got around to finishing and posting damn near everything I've ever started writing. I had to cheat a fair bit, since several orphaned snippets got thrown up for the personal canon meme some months back, and stuff like the AUs didn't need to be finished because they were never meant as more than unconnected snippets. Even so, the only things I've started and never posted at all were a pair of short ficlets which were eventually abandoned once I realised I'd borrowed most of the ideas in them for Five Ways They Might Have Met, and the parts of Ghost Stories which are still in the works.

...that's... really kind of freakish, isn't it? I must be finding something seriously unnaturally inspirational about this series to keep me going like that.

Me personally, I blame the people. You all rock, y'hear?

Going by my past fannish record, a fandom which keeps me around for more than a year is doing pretty well to begin with. But CLAMP still seem to have retained possession of most of the obsession which hasn't been lost to GG from me lately.

Getting me to stop writing for this fandom at this point may well be impossible. ^^;

And I am going to need those months, if Ghost Stories is ever to be finished even in rough draft form. But going on past record, that may not be so much of a problem. ^_^

Wow...a whole year. That seems like forever for someone as fandom fickle as me XD Congrats! I guess that means if it's so inspiring for you we'll not run out of good fic to read for a while? ^_^

I'm generally pretty fickle myself as a rule. A year isn't a record for me or anything, but I've never been anything like this involved in any fandom before. Mostly I just lurk like there's no tomorrow.

A not-so-very-secret secret - I am terribly easily influenced by opinion when it comes to getting me to write. And I've been absolutely spoiled with nice feedback from people ever since day one in this fandom. So it's not exactly just the source material responsible for all the inspiration I seem to be finding around here. ^^;

^__^ Surprised by which part? It shouldn't be that surprising that someone habitually productive has managed to keep it up for a while, should it? (Even if I still have this nagging suspicion I must have inadvertently borrowed all that productivity from someone else who was supposed to have it, and that I'll be expected to return it as soon as just they realise where it went. >.>)

And that's not even counting stuff written for other fandoms! *g* It's incredibly satisfying to have been able to keep up this rate for so long. Makes me feel like I'm finally getting the hang of this whole writing thing. ^__^

But xxxHOLiC IS freakishly inspirational. I haven't been this consistently productive...ever.
