I also got to write for two different doujinshi this year, Naruto Ramen Remix and Disorganisation (Kingdom Hearts), but I will wait to ramble about those a bit more when some of the artists have actually gotten around to posting cover art etc.
In total
The total word count from all that came to around 111,000 words - not as much more than my tally from '06 as I was hoping (given how much of the '06 tally came from only about the last quarter of '06) but not too bad overall. Ghost Stories alone took up about 35,000 of those, Catalyst another 24,000. Actually, assorted holic/Tsubasa AUs account for not much below half of everything I've written this year, which I not quite sure what to make of.
There's also another 12,000 words of Ghost Stories written but not yet posted (rest assured that even if I'm a little stalled on the very next chapter thanks to our slow moving canon, there's plenty more developing in the not-too-distant future of the story to keep me going).
I've also got nearly 14,000 words of unfinished Guilty Gear fic sitting there, including the remaining four entries from this 'in progress' post and a few other odds and ends. Those four are close to done - all any of them really need is a bit of finishing off and editing before they're ready to post, but somehow I always managed to get distracted by some new idea before any of them quite got there. Anyway, I think at this point I'm officially banned from starting any new GG fic until they're all done.
Aims from last year
I started this year with the weird (and probably over-optimistic) goal of getting some sort of fic posted at least once every week - even if it was only drabble length, just to keep up momentum on things. It didn't sound so impossible at the time; I'd been on such an unprecedented roll of productivity at that point that I really had been keeping that kind of pace. I even managed to stick to that schedule until the end of February, when I inconveniently found myself in the middle of writing a couple of things were were decided not drabble length and weren't going to be ready for posting for a good while and real life decided to clobber me with a stick, and I went the next couple of months solid without posting anything at all. >.> But it wasn't all bad - I managed to pick up again pretty well once I did get back into the groove of posting regularly again, and came out at the end of the year with a nice total of 62 posts of a fic-containing variety, which averages out to more than one per week, anyway.
As for other goals made in the round up post from last year, I was intending to try and finish all the WIPs I listed way back here. In reality, I got through the first 9 in a couple of months, got stuck on the 10th until mid way through this year and gave up on most of the others, but I guess that's pretty much the fate of a lot of WIPs in the end. At least I got Catalyst done, which held the title of being the single longest thing I'd ever written for a good couple of months before Ghost Stories took off and overran it (likely by more than a factor of two by the time it's finished). I've been locked into finishing only short fiction of around the few thousand word mark for so long that it really is good to know I'm getting the hang of something approaching novel-length fiction at last.
Aims for next year
Finish Ghost Storiesdamnit!, draft and final version. Also finish the rest of those unfinished GG fic. There's one idea from this request post I still plan to get to writing too (for the rest, it looks like I really should have asked people for more detailed prompts, because none of the other ideas have gone anywhere at all. ^^;) Actually, those should probably just be goals for the next month or two, but I can always make up new ones from there.
One thing I do want to get back to this year is writing more original fiction. I've had a couple of ideas for original fic kicking around in my head for the last couple of years now, but it seems like every time I get close to starting one, some horribly distracting fanfic idea shows up and takes over my time instead. So, I will have to make sure original fic is much higher up the priority list for this yearjust below all that other stuff I said I'd finish. >.>
Above all, keep on writing, and keep up the pace. ^_^

Date: 2008-01-01 01:49 pm (UTC)My request memes always come with the disclaimer that I never know whether I'll come up with fic for every request, but this time, I think I really should've just asked people to give me a bit more of a prompt to go on. ^^; Still, it's not like I don't have enough to work on right now.
Thanks! All the best to you too.

Date: 2008-01-01 01:57 pm (UTC)crackedidea? And then somehow even after that, I wound up working on the one that was *furthest* from finished rather than any of the others, and... XD; I *will* get to finishing it all though, it's there on my holiday to-do listalong with all that other stuff.Am about halfway through the Overture story now, btw, and it's been messing with my head liek whoa x1000 o_O But I think I will withhold judgement until I get to the end.

Date: 2008-01-01 02:04 pm (UTC)They've been posting more videos? Awesome :D so, you're going to make a summary post or let me in on the goodness at some point, right?

Date: 2008-01-01 02:12 pm (UTC)They're all the way to the end with the videos, actually - I'm just going slow because my downloads for this month are looking a bit scary and I keep stopping to try and translate stuff. I'll have to wait and see whether my brain survives, at this rate. ^^;
On a related subject, I may possibly have caved at the sight of a few doujinshi for sale on ebay which may possibly have since come in. >.>
