I think I must have now spent most of a month kind of in that productivity-black hole where you've got at least five different things that are mostly written, but that's actually just a nice way of saying that only the hair-pullingly difficult bits are left, or that you've written yourself into a corner where you've got a three-parter that should be ready to start posting, but in reality you're still juggling which idea belongs in which part and probably won't know for sure until you've finished all three of them. Thoughts about posting on non-fic related topics (which happen more often than you might think going by the average traffic on this journal) mostly just lead to guilt over wasting time you could be using on real writing (or any of the million other things you should be doing), so nothing continues to get posted. Then you look at the date and realise you haven't posted anything in over a month.

It's something like the story of my whole LJ career. ^^;

On the upside!

1. Manga translations are done at last!

2. After chewing nails over my latest GG fic for most of the last month, it is finally a) done! b) betaed! (<3 velithya), and c) pretty much only needing a few last edits to be transcribed into the main copy before it's ready to post! \o/

3. Still haven't finished editing Ghost Stories, but I am just about to send a new version of the first chapter* off to my beta readers, so I'm feeling productive on that front too.

4. Relevant to nothing, but parts of my living space that have been pretty much sitting in corners since we moved in here have at long last finally been taken out, sorted through and put somewhere sensible. Not really important to anyone but me, but at least I get to feel organised for once.

*a.k.a. one of the bits with the teeth in it.

1. Do you like this character?
Oh, y'know. He might just possibly be one of my favourite characters ever. Something like that. =P Or that might just have been rather too predictable for words.

But what can I say, I'm a sucker for characters who might be, say, seriously kickarse or completely mental or the like, and who've generally been dragged backwards through the thorny hedge of life more times than they deserve, but still somehow manage to keep their faith in humanity and go on being Really Nice People. =3 And if they're really cute or are voice acted by certain persons who shall go nameless, that doesn't hurt either.

2. What name/s do you call this character?
'Ky' works pretty well. Ky Kiske if you want to be formal, or you can even stick a Sir/Commander/Captain/King/Your Majesty/His Awesomeness in there if you want to be extra formal. Does 'the shiny' count?

3. What image-color do you associate with character?
You know, if you absolutely must have a question like this, you could at least have the decency to phrase it as, "If this character joined a Super Sentai team, what colour would they be?"

But to answer, oh gee, what a tough one. I could be pondering this one all week, srsly.

4.What image-song do you associate with character?
It's pretty hard to beat his official one (Holy Orders: Be Just or Be Dead) - especially the extra pretty Overture version. There's 'Keep the Flag Flying' too, though of course that one's about someone else as much as him. But if we're talking about songs that don't come straight from the source material, 'Holding Out for a Hero' is a personal favourite. =3

5.What blood-type do you think this character is?
His official bio says AB, but since I find the whole 'personality-by-blood-typing' thing to be only slightly more plausible than aviating Suidae, I'm going to go with saying I think he's the type who's learned to appreciate being able to keep his blood on the inside. But he'd be willing to negotiate on that if it meant keeping everyone else's blood on their insides because he takes all that 'good of the many' stuff more seriously than is good for him.

6.Of all of the titles to that this character appears in, what character do you like to put this character with?
GEE LET ME THINK. No really, I bet none of you are going to guess this one. Oh all right, I'll give you a hint - it starts with 'S' and ends with massive property damage and someone phoning the fire department.

7.What would you want to say to this character?
DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW CLOSE THAT BATTLE OF ROME STUNT WAS FROM GOING SO FAR SOUTH YOU'D BE LOOKING UP TO FIND THE ANTARCTIC? YOU WERE HOW OLD WHEN YOU SIGNED UP TO THE ORDER? WAS IT REALLY YOUR IDEA TO CALL HIM 'SIN'? HAVE YOU SERIOUSLY BEEN ROCKING UP TO YOUR IPF JOB IN A UNIFORM FROM A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ORGANISATION THAT'S FIVE YEARS DEFUNCT EVERY DAY SINCE THE TOURNAMENT? DIDN'T ANYONE EVEN ASK? Hug. I'm definitely going for 'hug' on this one. I know I'd risk goring myself on at least a million buttons and studs in the process, but it would be so totally worth it. =3

I've already seen this meme on my f-list so many times in the last week or so that I'm thinking it must be about time to break the cycle here before it starts getting vicious. ^^; If anyone who hasn't been tagged for it yet wants to be though, hints may be dropped in the box by the door. ^_~

It... actually should probably have been up by now, except that I wasted Wednesday night writing this post instead, then lost last night going to see a movie, and a friend's celebrating her birthday tonight... ^^; But it'll be up by next week at the latest, I swear!

Oh, I'm sure you're spot on - it's all just about Arcsys being too lazy to redraw Ky in his IPF uniform. What kind of amazes me is that although we see that uniform in one picture from the first GG game, they've never once drawn a single picture of him wearing it since. It's rather like they've completely (or perhaps just 'conveniently', given that his Order uniform is much prettier) forgotten the IPF has their own uniform at all. XD No wonder there's so much fandom confusion over whether the Order's still active or not.

I did once spend a while toying with the idea of writing fic to explain why Ky kept wearing his Order uniform ever since the tournament (linked in to what Justice said to him about the war not being over), but I always more interesting ideas to distract me.

Come to think of it, did Ishiwatari even design the entire IPF uniform, aside from the cloak? Given how many Order vets are probably in the IPF, the Order uniform might as well be the unofficial alternative XD

Ooh, never thought about it that way. I'd always thought that Ky finds some comfort in wearing the uniform, given how he grew up wearing it and it being one of the few constants in his life back then.

It's a little more frustrating because it's actually so close to done it really should be as easy as finding a free hour somewhere - but there are a couple of parts I should run past my beta reader again before I declare it ready to post. I really wanted it finished weeks ago, but at this rate a couple more days won't kill me. ^^;

I think the IPF uniform basically is just the blue cloak over the exact same undershirt and pants Ky wore in the Order. Or at least similar enough that it makes no difference, so at the very least, I'm sure all the old Order veterans get to wear that much of their old uniform to work. *g*

I did also figure it made some sense for him to be wearing it in GGX, since he's acting as a free agent by going looking for Dizzy rather than as an IPF member. But by GGXX, where he pretty much gets interrupted in the middle of his workday, they're running out of excuses. Not that I can really blame them for not wanting to redraw that many sprites. On the other hand, sometimes it's fun trying to find a logical rationale for even the parts of the series that the creators included completely by accident. ^^;
